What to Measure Before a Playset Removal Estimate
Five measurements and four photos can turn a vague playset description into a useful first conversation.

Start with the footprint
Measure the longest and widest points, including the slide and swing beam. Height matters too, especially when branches, rooflines, or power lines sit near the structure.
Map the carry path
Measure the narrowest gate and note every step, slope, soft patch, retaining wall, or sharp turn between the playset and the likely loading point.
Photograph the anchors
Take one wide photo, one photo of each connection type, and close views of posts meeting the ground. Concrete, buried anchors, and severe rot change the teardown plan.
A simple estimate checklist
Record overall width, length, height, gate width, material, approximate age, visible rot, anchor type, and the distance to legal parking. Do not dismantle unstable sections merely to improve the photos.
Keep the next step proportional
Collect the facts first. If the structure is unstable, heavily corroded, connected to utilities, or near a hazard, stop and arrange a qualified assessment rather than forcing the teardown.
